Salmon & Pumpkin Balls

Omega-rich, grain-free treats cats love

Salmon delivers omega-3 fatty acids that support skin, coat, and joint health; pumpkin adds fiber and can aid digestion. Together they make a nutrient-dense, grain-free treat that many cats adore. Use cooked salmon (baked or poached, plain—no salt, garlic, or onions) or canned salmon in water. For a full list of foods to avoid, check Ingredient Safety. Practice portion control—these are calorie-dense; a few small balls per day are plenty.

Fans of fish-based treats often enjoy our Tuna & Catnip Bites as well. For dogs, Sweet Potato Chews offer a similar fiber-rich, grain-free profile. Because these balls contain moisture, follow Storage Guidelines for refrigeration and freezing. Use our Baking Techniques for evenly cooked, tender results.

Ingredients

  • • 1 cup cooked salmon, flaked (no bones, skin removed)
  • • 1/2 cup plain canned pumpkin (not pie filling)
  • • 1/4 cup oat flour or coconut flour
  • • 1 egg
  • • 1–2 tbsp water, if needed

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. 2. In a bowl, mix flaked salmon, pumpkin, flour, and egg until combined. Add water if the mix is too dry.
  3. 3. Roll into small balls (about 1/2–3/4 inch). Place on the baking sheet.
  4. 4. Bake 12–15 minutes, until firm and lightly golden. Cool completely.
  5. 5. Refrigerate up to 5 days or freeze in portions. See Storage Guidelines for moisture-rich treat storage.
